I don't like to go too crazy and you won't see every part of my house displayed with decorations but just the key areas that serve as focal points such as the fireplace, dining room table, and front door spaces. There are several ways to decorate your home without breaking the bank and here are my top 5 ways.
1.) Focal Points: As I mentioned earlier, don't worry about decorating the entire house. Just focus on the key areas, such as the dining table or breakfast room table, fireplace, and front door.
2.) Marshall's, HomeGoods and TJ Maxx are your best friends during the holiday season. Hobby Lobby is great too but always make sure they are having a sale and that you checkout with the online coupons. There are a ton of fall decorations for low prices. I got these Owls from HomeGoods and the table runner from Marshall's.
3.) DIY - You don't have to be great at DIY to create something simple. I got this banner idea from Pinterest and created it using simple items from Michael's.
4.) Don't rule out the grocery store for your decorations. I always get my pumpkins from Publix and this year I got my wheat! I also got a bouquet of flowers from Trader Joe's and added them to my entry. Fresh flowers are one of my favorite things and can add so much to a space. Also remember, decorations can be as easy as apples in a bowl.
5.) Use what you have and don't feel like you have to get everything in one year. Gathering decorations and creating that perfect Fall feel takes time! Think about what you have in your house already and how you can use it. Over the years, I have collected the owls, banner, sign, and table runner. I am a firm believer that decorations are never done and can be improved every year.
Hope this inspired you to add a little Fall feel to your house! Enjoy the fall season and Happy Decorating!
